WandaVision (Found Poem)

A thing isn’t beautiful because it lasts
You are my sadness and my hope
But mostly
You are my love
What is grief
If not love
Persevering

No One (Rewrite of Leonard Cohen’s No One After You)

I danced with a few partners
Been in skirmishes and wars
Gave my heart to a mountain
I didn’t expect to adore
I dream when you are far and near
My heart is always sore
Ex’s gave me speeches
But it’s your voice I wanted more

Been on the road forever
Detouring and plowing through
This time I veered fast and sharp
There is no one, no one quite like you

I’ve lived in many places
From upstate to LA
I’ve know rags and riches
Trying not to live in cliche
I tremble when you touch me
I glow in your embrace
I give love freely away
Like I never loved before that day

Been venturing alone since birth
Grew with those who came before
But you are younger and more stubborn
There is no one, no one quite like you

Thought I knew the facts of love
Now it’s served the score
Thought I’ve been around the block and back
But I’ve never loved like this before

Who's Who (Rewrite of Leonard Cohen’s Moving On)

I loved your face, I loved your hair
Your perfect body in everything you wear
As for the school, the job, the rules
I ditched them all to be with you
And now you’re gone, not to be found
As if there never was a you
Who broke my heart in bidding adieu
Who’s moving on, who’s kidding who

I loved your calls, I loved the way
They kept me intrigued every single day
Your views fascinate me, I didn’t think
What was unsaid put us on the brink
And now you’re gone, not a single sound
As if there never was a you
King of promises turned bluff
Who’s moving on, who’s kidding who

I loved your haste, I loved your flair
Your creativity and social affairs
As for my home and the community aboard
I ditched them all to love you more
And now you’re gone, you’re truly gone
As if there never was a you
Sick in bed as I held you through
Who’s moving on, who’s kidding who
